The City of Bellevue is currently hiring for several teen-friendly roles in parks, recreation and aquatics, offering valuable work experience right in our backyard — with many positions even paying above minimum wage.
One standout program for those looking to connect with nature is the Bellevue Well-K.E.P.T. trainee position. Open to youth ages 14–18, this summer job allows teens to help maintain city parks while learning about environmental stewardship and civic responsibility. The role pays $18.29 to $20.09 per hour and runs for eight weeks during the summer, offering real-world experience and meaningful mentorship.
For students who love sports, the city is hiring youth sports coaches for basketball, soccer and other activities. The job pays $18.58 to $25.64 per hour and involves working with kids ages 5–13 at local parks and community gyms. Coaches supervise, lead practices and build positive relationships with both kids and their families. It’s a fun way to stay active, gain valuable leadership experience and help give children a summer to remember.
If you’re more of a water person and want to stay refreshed at the pool this summer, there’s a job for you too. The City of Bellevue is also hiring swim instructors at the Bellevue Aquatic Center. This position is ideal for students who enjoy working with kids and have strong swimming skills. Pay ranges from $17.25 to $23.45 per hour, and certification training is provided. It’s a great way to have fun in the water, develop teaching skills and take on responsibility with young children.
