OAKBERRY Coming to Seattle
Bellevue now has another go-to after-school option for students. OAKBERRY, a new popular açaí restaurant with over 1000 locations worldwide, has now opened in downtown Bellevue. This is the first time an international açaí chain has arrived in Washingtons, bringing its customizable açaí bowls and smoothies.
OAKBERRY offers smoothies and açaí bowls you can personalize with toppings such as granola and fruit. Since açaí bowls have become a popular snack among teens, the restaurant has already caught the attention of Bellevue High School students.
“I think OAKBERRY is going to be really popular with Bellevue students because açaí bowls are such a popular snack right now, and there really good,” junior Alexis Farringer said.
For many students, OAKBERRY offers a lot more than just food: It’s a new downtown location to provide a place to meet friends, connect, and even study after a long, busy day at school.
In addition to giving students a new place to hang out, OAKBERRY also has provided jobs for local students, like senior Olivia Anderson, who works there. When asked about her experience working there since it opened, Anderson shared what she enjoys most about the job.
“My favorite part of working there is getting to talk to all the customers that come through and making different fun acai bowls.”
While downtown Bellevue has many cafés, fast food restaurants, and coffee shops, OAKBERRY brings something new with its customizable smoothies and açaí bowls. The restaurant offers students something different from the usual choices.
OAKBERRY may be popular with students looking for a quick snack or a place to meet up with friends. As more students try OAKBERRY, it will be up to them to decide whether it becomes a place they visit after school or just a place to try once.
