Building upon its elite legacy and recent achievements, Bellevue boys lax is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season. The team has clinched multiple state championships, including titles in 2017, 2018, 2022, and has high hopes of getting another in 2025.
This year, Bellevue has an incredible group of young talent, with Cam Hansen, Tatum Pak and Sean Dillion on the defensive end, and Teo Tagavilla, Cole Pelligrini, Becket Ritzer and Jake Terry representing the offense. Each of these players will have a huge role throughout the season and their careers at Bellevue.
Now the attention turns to the elite upperclassman and returning players. Junior captain Bo Strom is back to lead the charge, joined by fellow captains Will Moose, Olly Sharp and Rory Ritchie each helping lead this team to glory. A standout player to keep an eye on is faceoff specialist Justin Lee, nicknamed “Mr. Automatic,” who dominated the X last season.
Additionally, when Bellevue has possession, watch out for the Weingaertner twins, the two seniors will dust you with their speed. Rounding out the elite seniors and juniors are midfielders Tanner Jones, Halen Ritzer and me who can step up and score when needed.
With the season already underway, Bellevue has picked up its first win on March 18th against Seattle Academy, 11-9, followed by a hard-fought 12-11 loss to O’dea just two days later.
Bellevue is also taking a visit to Arizona this spring break, playing a top team on the west coast called Brophy Prep. Bellevue lax has a loaded schedule for the year and the sky is the limit for this squad. But at the end of the day the goal is to beat Mercer Island on May 24th to bring that trophy back to Bellevue and get their first state championship since 2022.
