Best Bakeries in Bellevue

This spring, many bakeries have opened their stores in Bellevue, bringing a spectrum of sweet pastries and aromatic breads. The Bellevue community is incomplete without food businesses, and that’s why The Barque is excited to share a comprehensive review on some of the most popular places for Bellevue High School (BHS) students and the community.
First, one of the students’ favorites is the BA Artisan Bakery just a few blocks away from BHS. They are known for their Rose Bagel and Rose Egg Tart inspired by rose-based pastries in Yunan, China. Additionally, they also offer numerous sourdoughs, Maritozzo, cakes and drinks. The chewiness of the bread, the delicate texture of cakes, the crisp in the egg tart and all the rich flavors make their bakery unforgettable. All their products are promised to be freshly baked daily, and you can see the kitchen filled with busy pastry chefs when you walk into the door. This place is truly a favorite of mine and many other students.
Another popular place for students is Voodoo Donuts, which is even closer to BHS. Many BHS students would go with friends during lunch or after school because of their airy and melt-in-your-mouth goodness and being in an ideal location. If bread and pastries aren’t your favorite type of treat, this may be the place for you.
“I like Voodoo Donuts because it's really unique, and I think their product names are fun! It's a fun place to go with friends and it’s really accessible. My favorite type of donuts there is Marshel Madness,” senior Rainn Reinmiller said.
Located near Bellevue Library, Paris Baguette is a new bakery that is worth the visit. This store opened this spring, and it’s often busy with families and workers around Bellevue. They are known for the flaky and buttery French bakeries, as well as having a large and clean dining space.
“I really like the new café, Paris Baguette, because it has a pretty wide range of pastries, an interesting seasonal menu, and they have a really yummy hotdog bread,” senior Isabella Yang said.
On the other hand, students didn’t respond with similar excitement for L’experience Paris. Although their food and pastry were quite tasty, there are notable issues with their customer service.
"L'experince Paris is utterly disappointing and should not exist due to its terrible customer service. When my friends and I arrived at the store, they said they don’t take reservations even though they confirmed our table for eight at 11:45 a.m. a week beforehand,” senior Kimaya Prasanna Raghavan said.
Last but not least, Tous les Jours is frequently filled with BHS students due to its proximity to school. They offer a very wide selection of bread, pastries and cakes. Some of my personal favorites include their tiramisu, cream-filled donuts and various flavors of croissants. On a side note, Tous les Jours also takes orders for birthday cakes, so if you loved one of their sliced cakes, make sure to check that out.
That’s all for The Barque’s review of Bakeries in Bellevue. If you love food as much as I do, or you simply want a place to hang out with friends, visit these places immediately! The recommended bakeries will not disappoint you.
