It’s a new year, which means new concerts. Just in the past month, Bellevue High school students attended the concerts of several major artists, including Gunna, Osamason, and Twice. With our proximity to Seattle, BHS students have many opportunities to listen to live music including the chance to attend these highly anticipated concerts.
Artists like Bruno Mars, Charlie Puth, and Madison Beer have announced tour dates along with presale codes. Although Mars is not coming to Seattle, there are many students considering to commute to Vancouver, BC for the concert, or even further, due to the popularity of his music.
Additionally, other artists like Ed Sheeran (August), Zara Larsson and Maggie Lindemann (March), Demi Lovato (May), and The Neighborhood (October) are coming to Seattle. Students should secure tickets soon for mainstream artists like these as the venues tend to sell out.
For those looking for a change in genre, check out artists that produce indie rock or underground rap. Glaive and Kurtains are performing this month; their take on hyperpop and electro beats could be a new addition to your playlist. Alternatively, PinkPantheress, Snow Strippers, Alex G, Alice Phoebe Lou, and Indigo de Souza are also performing this school year, and since many of these artists perform in smaller venues where the audience is closer to the singer, the experience will be more intimate and memorable.

“My favorite concerts have been when I was in a standing room and mosh pit where I was close to the artist. My most unforgettable experiences were at smaller rap concerts like 2hollis, Osamason, and Xavier Wulf,” senior Elaina Hannon said.
Furthermore, independent shows are not the only concerts BHS students are attending as many music festivals are also releasing their 2026 lineups. Popular festivals to watch for include Coachella, Rolling Loud, Summer Smash, and Lollapalooza.
While making memories and meeting new people at concerts, be sure to stay safe during the process. The Barque hopes you have a great time at these upcoming concerts and that you enjoy listening to some of these artists.
