First blowing up on TikTok in 2022 for its signature Tunacado sandwich, Joe & the Juice has come to the Eastside with a new location in Bellevue Square! With two stores in Downtown Seattle and U District, the juice and sandwich shop has made a name for itself among Seattle’s tech workers and high school students.
Originating in Denmark in 2002, Joe & the Juice is marketed as a juice bar and a quick and healthy lunch option for the typical American. Its menu is filled with nutrient-packed options like fresh juices and smoothies, specialty coffees, and whole-grain sandwiches. Therefore, it is the perfect spot for Bellevue High School students looking to cleanse their regular palettes of Chick-Fil-A and Chipotle.
“Joe & the Juice is a nice spot to grab breakfast or lunch with friends and I am glad they opened one near us. I will say that it is on the pricey side, but nonetheless you get what you pay for,” senior Elliana Nan said.
Popular menu options includes the famous Tunacado which is a sandwich that combines tuna, avocado, tomato, and pesto spread on their signature crispy flatbread.
Here’s a tip: add jalapeños to your sandwich to add a bit more spice and flavor to the basic Tunacado sandwich.

Other food options include overnight oats, acai bowls, and other sandwich variations if you do not like tuna. You can opt in for steak, chicken, or even full plant-based options like the VAVO (Vegan Avocado).
As for beverages, you can go for one of their many signature juices that focus on health benefits and detoxing the body. Or, if you are looking for a bit of caffiene, you can opt for for one of their coffees or matcha lattes.
Evidently, Joe & the Juice is a spot that focuses on the trend of clean eating and caters to a certain group. Whether it is their pink packaging, simple menu, or marketing on social media, Joe & the Juice has the potential to be a staple for BHS students wanting a quick lunch.
The location is still under construction at Bellevue Square, but expect for its opening in the coming weeks. It is located on the second floor of Bellevue Square Mall and has replaced Starbucks’ old spot and Great State Burger.
