Autumn is a special time of year filled with sweet treats, cold weather, and pumpkin patches. However, my favorite part of fall is watching movies and shows that help me feel the fall vibes. Here is a list of my top 10 favorite things to watch during fall!
1. “Gilmore Girls”
A well-known show that premiered on Oct. 5th, 2000, about the relationship between the protagonist Rory and her mother Lorelai. The show takes place in the town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut. The reason I enjoy watching this show during fall is because of its autumnal aesthetic and New England setting, giving it a cozy and feel-good vibe.
2. “Hocus Pocus”
This movie is a classic Halloween favorite that all ages can enjoy. It’s an amusing movie about three sister witches who were resurrected for one night: Halloween. I mean, what screams fall more than a good Halloween family movie?
3. “The Twilight Series”
A well-known book series turned into a movie series that many still enjoy watching to this day. The movie is filled with vampires and werewolves, perfectly fitting for an eerie Halloween feel. Also, the movie is set in Forks, Washington, which would be a perfect weekend adventure during the fall or winter!
4. “The Vampire Diaries”
Like the Twilight series but make it a TV show! This teen drama takes place in a town called Mystic Falls, Virginia. Beware, once you begin this show, you won’t be able to stop watching. Make sure to sit tight for a few months, or maybe even years, as the show has eight long seasons.
5. “Pretty Little Liars”
This teen-drama also embodies the feeling of Halloween because of its creepy mysterious vibe. The show’s concept is about a group of girls who had a friend go missing. Now they have a stalker, A, who is taking over their lives. Watching this show will give you the chills and it is fun to watch with family and friends.
6. “Coraline”
A classic animated film from our childhood, Coraline sometimes still gives me the creeps! This is a great movie to rewatch every fall because I always discover new easter eggs every time. The movie gives a good flashback to my childhood.
7. “Scream”
One of the most well-known horror movies; you can’t miss watching this around Halloween. Yes, it can be a little cheesy. But it is always enjoyable to go back in time and experience the feeling of corny horror movies with famous lines we all know.
8. “Gossip Girl”
Yes, another teenage drama series. But trust me, once you start watching you won’t be able to stop. This is a story of wealthy teenagers living in the Upper East Side of New York. I love watching this during fall because the first season begins during autumn and showcases New York’s infamous sites, such as Central Park. I also can’t get enough of the characters wardrobe which includes cashmere sweaters, plaid skirts and trench coats.

9. “10 Things I Hate About You”
Taking place in Seattle, this movie is perfect to watch because you can even go visit the filming locations! From Stadium High School to Gasworks Park, anyone can have a fun day of visiting these places. The high school setting and focus on prom reminds me of the experience of high school dances. This movie will always be a year-round classic.
10. “Harry Potter”
To end it off with one of my favorite movie series, Harry Potter. With its magical spells, mystical creatures and back to school adventures, these movies will always be a hit. The movies have a cozy and nostalgic atmosphere and take you through beautiful Hogwarts as it transitions into the colder seasons.
There are so many more movies to enjoy during the fall, but these are for sure my favorites. Make sure to give at least one of these a try, because there’s no doubt you’ll feel the fall vibes and nostalgia.
