Nail Artists at BHS

Jan 31

Bellevue has an extraordinary number of talented artists, but one group remains largely underrecognized: the nail artists. Many students have begun to create their own small businesses by selling easy to use press-on nails and curated long-lasting Gel-X nails to students at BHS. These nails are sold at a reasonable price and are loved by many for their high quality due to it being hand-made. Many students seek the artists out for homecoming, prom and other school dances.

“I get asked the most during prom and hoco season,” said junior Jeannee Chin.

Many people love asking for custom nails around dance seasons, so they can mix and match colors with their dresses and suits.

“I mostly get clients through word of mouth,” junior Chloe Chiang said.

Students are likely to see other students’ nails and want to have some of their own. With easy press-ons, they can be reused for different occasions. While some artists are inspired by each other, others share their creations through social media outlets.

“Mostly my close friends ask me,” said junior Sunny Cai.

Some nail artists do it as a hidden hobby, and many people spread through sharing their photos through Instagram and TikTok. Priced around $30 to $50 usually, these nails are affordable to purchase from your local artists. Make sure to check out these talented juniors for custom nails during dance season. This is a valuable opportunity to connect with other students and help support fellow classmates.
