Break calls for a vacation whether that be at home or to a foreign country. Many Bellevue students enjoy spending their school breaks traveling and trying new things. February 17th through the 21st is Bellevue High School’s 2025 mid-winter break schedule. Let’s see where students are going this upcoming mid-winter break!
Hawaii is always a major hot spot for students. Who wouldn’t want to spend a week on a tropical island visiting volcanoes, snorkeling with fish and tanning on beaches? The majority of students visit the Big Island and Maui, as it is a popular tourist spot with over a combined 380,00 visitors a year.
“I can’t wait to go to the Big Island. Hawaii is [my family's and my] favorite spot,” junior Miley Vogel said.
Additionally, Mexico is a popular vacation destination. Bellevue’s senior trip is often Punta Mita, Mexico. Punta Mita offers a 1500-acre resort with white sand beaches the Pacific Ocean Views. Seniors participating in this trip take part in a white-out night, playing pickle ball and much more with their class.
“[My friends and I] are so excited. We’re planning on spending lots of time on the beaches together,” senior Orli Kalman said.
Although, some enjoy a chilly and adventurous trip instead. Snowboarding and skiing is a favored activities among most students, admired as a fun challenge and experience outdoors. Colorado has some of the best ski resorts in the US, including Aspen Snowmass and the Steamboat Ski resort.
“I’m going to Vail, Colorado to ski. I enjoy skiing in the mountains and spending my time outdoors,” freshman Jake Salem said.
Consider these destinations for your next break to maximize your vacation. Whether you prefer the sun-kissed beaches or snowy mountains, there’s a vacay spot for everyone to enjoy. Safe travels!
