Feb 7

Securing a part-time job during high school has many advantages and is incredibly important. Luckily, Bellevue has a wide range of jobs that are available for high school students. Bellevue Square is full of stores that are hiring. From food services like Panda Express, to clothing stores such as PacSun, students can get experience working in different industries.

The best and quickest way to find a job is to look on Indeed. It is an app that anyone can download and is the number one global job matching program. It is completely free to use and great for browsing for jobs. All there is to do is to post a resume and find which jobs seem to match you best. Applicants can insert the distance that they would be willing to travel for work, and it will give a list of hiring jobs in the area. All jobs share a full description of what may be experienced, tasks fulfilled, and the salaries earned.

Now, what should be written in a resume? There are numerous websites with templates that can help you create a professional and organized resume. First, include a name and contact information so the employer can reach out to you. Then, incorporate personal skills such as prior experience or hobbies. Students can create a short description of themselves so the employer can get to know their personality. Adding information such as school and GPA can also be beneficial.

Being employed during your adolescent years builds skills that will be beneficial during college. Finding a job in college will become simpler and can help with figuring out what students may want to pursue as a full-time job. Stay on the lookout for hiring businesses or if a specific store or business is interesting, ask them firsthand!
