Every April, Bellevue High School’s DECA chapter prepares for the prestigious International Career Development Conference. This year, 13 DECA members qualified for this competition.
DECA club advisor Tammi Riggers, along with students Rohin Bahl, Alexander Cao, Ava Chen, Nate Chiang-Lin, Andrew Cun, Ariel Kam, Sophie Kim, Conrad Krol, Hasini Juluri, Ishaan Mishra, David Wang, Claire Xu and Andrew Zhang, traveled all the way to Orlando, Florida to attend this conference.
From April 25 to 30, the team spent six days on the other side of the country. The DECA conference was an integral part of the trip, where students dedicated themselves to exploring the business world and presenting business solutions. But participants also cherished the free time to spend with friends.
“Going to ICDC was definitely something that I'll remember for the rest of my life. It was really cool to meet people from all over the country, with unique perspectives on business. And getting to hang out with friends made it all the better,” sophomore Chiang-Lin said.
“We stayed up late into the night in the hotel lounge practicing our role-plays and presentations. Outside of competition, we went to Disney and Universal and made so many lasting memories and friendships,” sophomore Juluri said.
BHS DECA concluded their journey with outstanding results. Seniors Alex Cao, Andrew Cun and Sophomore Conrad Krol won second place in ‘Stock Market Game’. Sophomore Hasini Juluri and Juniors Ariel Kam and Sophie Kim placed top ten in their corresponding events. Sophomore Nate Chiang-Lin placed top twenty. A huge congratulations to Bellevue DECA for their awards and dedication!
But the DECA journey does not end with the closing of ICDC.
“I know we’re all looking forward to ICDC 2026,” sophomore Juluri said.
